The colours of Teej

Teej is one of the most popular festivals in Rajasthan. Celebrated by the women of Rajasthan, this festival also has great religious significance. While the young girls pray for a good husband, the married women carry out a number of rituals to pray to the Goddess Parvati for the well-being of their husbands.In Jaipur, the festival is celebrated with particular zeal as the entire Pink City is enveloped in green colours and the women dress up in hues that signify freshness and richness. A Teej procession goes through the old city with a brightly adorned idol of Teej Mata on a palanquin for two consecutive days (13th and 14th of August, this year). Then the streets of Jaipur showcase food, handicraft stalls, folk performances, puppet shows, and music and dance.This is a festival in which you are bound to lose yourself in the vibrant culture of the city.
Take a Night Out in Jaipur

Rev Your Engines in Jaisalmer

The biggest name in off-road racing, Dakar, made its debut in India in 2017.In August 2018, from 17th to 19th, experience India Baja 2018, the official Indian franchise rally of Dakar. This motorsport is globally acknowledged as being one of the toughest on this planet. Following its lineage, the India Baja 2018promises to be gruelling and even more challenging. This is a cross country rally that covers 400 km of harsh Special Stages as well as over 150 km of Transport Stages.The registration for the event has been open since16th June and will close on 16th August,2018.

The city of Bundi adds a unique touch to its celebration of Teej. KajliTeej is to be celebrated on the 28th and the 29th of August this year. This celebration too abounds with a number of traditions and practices, the most popular of which is the procession of Teej Mata that travels through the main bazaars and ultimately stops at Azad Park.This procession includes performing artists, elephants, camels, and performing bands.
