Rajasthan FESTIVAL

27th - 30th March 2017

Rajasthan, a land of scenic beauty and immemorial architecture, celebrates Rajasthan Diwas on the 30th of March. On this date, sixty-eight years ago this amazing state was formed. To commemorate this historic event, the entire state is lit up with great zeal and enthusiasm. From peaceful and soothing bhajans to adventurous Air Shows. Fascinating children film festivals to renowned performers from Bollywood; every tradition, art or sport is celebrated here. However, the highlight of the four-day event remains the traditional and local Rajasthani culture in every nook and corner of this mesmerizing region.

RAJASTHAN FESTIVAL OPENING CEREMONY

The Rajasthan Festival opening ceremony on March 27 will begin with the arrival of the honourable Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Smt. Vasundhara Raje and the honourable chief guest for the evening the honourable Governor of Rajasthan, Shri Kalyan Singh. Their arrival and welcoming will be followed by a spectacular mass band display of the Army, the Air Force, the Navy and the Rajasthan Police. The exciting finals of the Rural Sports Competitions too are scheduled for the same day, followed by the arrival of the 'Rajasthan Diwas Marathon' winners bearing the 'Rajasthan Diwas' torch.

The evening will proceed with more exciting events and activities- lighting of the Rajasthan Festival Cauldron by the Chief Guest, a cultural event choreographed by Shri Bhanu Bharti followed by a grand, mesmerising display of fireworks and balloons, after which the national anthem will be sung, marking the end of this wonderful evening.

RAJASTHAN DIWAS CEREMONY

Marking the end of the spectacular Rajasthan Festival celebrations with Rajasthan Diwas on March 30th, a ceremony will be held at Janpath at 6:00 pm in front of the State Assembly. The ceremony will commence with the arrival of the honourable Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Smt. Vasundhara Raje, the honourable governor of Rajasthan, Shri Kalyan Singh, and other honourable dignitaries. The evening will proceed with the welcoming of the honourable dignitaries, followed by a spectacular light and sound show that highlights the rich culture and heritage of Rajasthan. This exciting event will then be followed by singing of the national anthem, marking the end of the evening and the ceremony.
